People who are close to me know that I love sweets. When I migrated here in the US, my eyes were just so satisfied as I see a lot of really delicious desserts everywhere we go. Donuts are one of my weaknesses. I grew up in the Philippines loving Dunkin Donuts’ choco butternut, it is still also one of my favorites. I’ll share with you guys my favorite doughnut places here in Portland.

Blue Star Donuts – this place is just heaven! I never knew I would love the flavors here. Their donuts are not too sweet which I like. My favorite is the blueberry bourbon basil and really one for the books. It is so good that I had to order another one. My son’s favorite is the cinnamon sugar and the buttermilk old fashioned. They have 6 branches in Portland and just recently opened one in Beaverton.

Pips Original Doughnuts – I discovered this doughnuts during “The Grimm” days (TV series). One of the actor there Reggie Lee or famously known as Wu in the TV series, is a Filipino, and saw him on instagram and his posts about the “dirty wu” donuts. They looked so good that I googled where this place is (NE Fremont St.) and asked my husband to go there the very next day. There was a long line when we went there but service was fast. I ordered assorted, donuts are small but they were all delicious!

Voodoo Doughnut – this is also a famous spot for tourists. My husband brought me here and we were in line for about 10 minutes. Their donuts have unique designs, very artistic. My favorite donuts here are the apple fritter, maple bacon bar and the dirt. They are sweeter than blue star donuts though.

If you’re vising Portland, and has a sweet tooth, try to check these places out. It’s worth a try.
