My family came over to visit me here in Oregon and I decided to take them to Disneyland. My brother hasn’t been to Disneyland yet so I was excited for him. He is just a few years younger than me and I knew he would be thrilled to be there. Off to the happiest place on earth!
We stayed at my mom’s cousin’s house at Chino Hills and it took us almost about an hour to get there. We left early to beat the Monday rush hour. which was always a great idea because it was not as crowded compared to weekends. We got there around 0930 and the lines at the ticket counter were not that long. I bought our tickets online but my husband and I decided to take them as well to California Adventure.
The first thing you have to do as soon as you enter the park is take your camera or phone out and start taking pictures, especially for those who are first timers – like my brother and my cousin. Pictures at the entrance and more pictures to come. Then we took advantage of the short lines to the rides. We tried the jungle cruise ride and the pirates of the Caribbean and we only had to wait for about 10 minutes which was great! Then by noon, the lines were starting to get a little bit longer. Before we had our lunch, they tried the big thunder mountain railroad which was absolute fun!
My toddler was due for his nap time so we decided to ride the train but it ended up being not a good idea. He was already falling asleep and all of a sudden the next stop had this loud sound effects, so it woke him up. So, do not try the train ride if you want your kids to fall asleep. After that, we decided to go to the small world ride which was great for kids. He loved it! He fell asleep after that. 🙂
Then we head to the California Adventure where more fun adult rides are. Since I am pregnant I was not able to join them on the rides. They first tried the guardians of the galaxy then the grizzly river run. They wanted to try the radiator spring racers but the wait time was 60 minutes. So they ended up trying the incredicoaster.
We went back to Disneyland for the fireworks which was stunning! My son did not like it that much, it was too loud for him. One day is not enough to tour both Disneyland and California adventure park. If you’re spending more time in SoCal and have enough budget, I definitely suggest a 2 or 3 day trip there. But we had so much fun. This was definitely one for the books!
